Turkish Wedding
Last summer, my Turkish friend Ebru got married. When she invited me with sent an invitation card, I felt very excited because I was never went a Turkish wedding before. When the wedding day came, I went to Istanbul by plane. After I went to the hotel where the wedding will be held, I saw Ebru's mother was greeting people. She was very friendly. When I sat down at the table where Ebru's other friends also sat, I met with them and soon I started to talk with them. They were talkative people. Then suddenly, one of them asked me what will I give to Ebru. After he realized I did not understand him, he explained it to me.
In Turkish weddings, bride and groom are given some money or gold to help for their new lives. I was already thinking of getting a gift for Ebru, but to be honest, I was suprised to hear that money or gold could be given. Ebru's friend laughed and added that how much I give Ebru, Ebru would give the same amount at my wedding. So I told him that it was some kind of a win-win situation.
It will be countinue...
waiting for the rest!
